Timber Cruise (TCruise) is the heart of Heuristic Solutions Timber Cruising System product line. The program accepts data from plot, point, double point, or segmented strip cruises of stratified, or non-stratified tracts, and prepares reports by product showng volumes, sampling errors, and the sample sizes required to adchieve stated levels of precision. Volume reports by product and dbh class are optionally available. Reports showing total, and per acre timber tract dollar values by product can be printed if the user inputs current stumpage prices
Cruise data can be input from tally sheets using TCruises built-in spread sheet, and paper tally interfaces, or down loaded from a data recorder. The companion products Timber Cruise for the Haglof Digitech Professional Computer Caliper (TCruise DP), Timber Cruise for Palm Sized PCs using Windows CE 2.11, or Pocket Sized PCs running Windows CE 3.00 (TCWinCE), and Timber cruise for Palm OS (TCPalmPilot) produce download ascii formatted cruise data that can be imported directly into TCruise. Data from other data recorders can be accommodated using TCruise's advanced custom data import dll procedure.

The program Tree Volume Equation and Table Generator (TVolume) incapsulates all of the 100 plus tree
profile equations built into TCruise, into a program that can produce local or standard volume equations or tables for
most species in the Southern, and Southeastern US. These equations or tables can imported into other cruise programs,
or used develop to programs to cruise for speciality products. We are now making a major effort to locate, and include
profile functions to cover the Lake, North Eastern, and Western states.
While TCruise has built-in tree profile functions for many species, it may not have a profile function suitable for all of
your commercial tree species. To provide the individual user a mechanism for independently expanding TCruise's profile
function list, a program called Tree Profile Fitter
(TProfile) was developed. This companion
product allow the user to collect tree profile data on sample trees of the desired species, input the data using a spread sheet
interface, and fit a selected tree profile function to the data. The fitted profile function can then be imported into
TCruise, or TVolume and used like a built-in function. TProfile makes it easy to expand TCruise to meet your requirements.
TCruise GPS Navigator (TCGPSNavigator) is a GPS navigation tool and land area calculation tool. The
program is easy to use and allows the user to quickly navigate to specific plot location, send TCruise the lng/lat, and ID of the plot, and
calculate in the field the area of a GPS Traverse. Land area can be calculated using the map projections of Universal Transvers Meractor (UTM),
Transverse Mercator (TM), Alber's equal area, State Plain, Poly Conic, and, Lambert Conformal Conic, and for large areas as a sperical polynomial.
The program is designed to work with piggy-back GPS pods such as those available for Juniper Systems' Allegro Field Computer, and Symbol's rugged
Pocket PCs. TCGPSNavigator will also work equally well with external GPS units attached by serial cable. TCGPSNavigator is extremely easy to
operate because of it's word menu system, and because it does not have a complex mapping interface.
Other products available from World Wide Heuristics Solutions are a log scaling program for Pocket PC
(LogScaleCE) that supports barcode readers, and an infrared file transfer
for copying files between Pocket PCs and/or Hand Held PCs.
