Special Allegro Installation Instructions





The recommended place to install TCWinCE is on the C_Drive. To 

install to the C_Drive



   1. Run the install program (TCWinCEAllegroFPCSetup.exe) from

      File Explorer.

      

   2. When the program ask for a destination folder on the PC,

      accept the default. The files needed for the Windows CE

      installation will then be copied to your hard drive.

      

   3. When the CE installer ask the question "Install "Heuristics

      TCWinCE" using the application install directory?", click the 

      No button, select C_Drive from the list that follows, and click

      the OK button.

      

   4. Follow the instructions on the Allegro screen, and then before

      attempting to run TCWinCE (TC Palm) turn the Allegro off for

      about 10 seconds before turning it back on.

   

   5. Go to Start and run program TC Palm.

   Note. If you attempt to run TC Palm before restarting the Allegro, 

   you will get an out of memory error!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want to install TCWinCE in Main Memory, you must make sure 

enough Main Memory is allocated to program storage, or the install

will fail. To verify/increase the amount of Main Memory allocated, 

from the Start select Settings->Control Panel. In the Control Panel,

click on the System icon, and then click on the Memory tab. Move the

slider to the right, until about 1024Kb of memory for program storage

is free. Close all of the windows opened, and follow steps 1 to 5 

listed above, except in step 3, select Main Memory as the destination.
